i'm wearing my work tiara, (i.e. my work hat, i.e. the physical reminder that even though i am working from home, i need to be in "at work" mode) so i really shouldn't be posting right now. but i wanted to announce that i am back and refreshed. i have been working tirelessly for the past two days on some new writing, and i'm totally motivated. tonight i'm actually going to be printing and mailing my first literary magazine submissions. acm and creative nonfiction. i have several other pieces well under way, and i can't wait to get some more stuff out there into the world of literary circulation. i expect rejection letters to follow closely after, but that's fine. i'm ready for that. in fact, i invite that. even a rejection letter will say, "my piece was read by someone at a real-life, established publishing entity," and that is totally cool.
oh, and i just submitted my front page assignment for the local paper. after this week i will have an actual publishing credit.
i haven't made any actual money yet, but can i begin referring to myself as "a writer" yet? let me know because i can't wait. 4:46 PM //
