i got my hair completely cut off today. now, my hair was long - it went all the way down my back and brushed the tops of my jeans. that's pretty long. now the longest layers are just past my shoulders... which i realize isn't really that short, but for me it may as well be a crew cut. eh - it was definitely time for a change.
besides, it was for a good cause. i'm donating the hair i cut off (14 inches!) to locks of love. i've always wanted to do this, but this is the first time i've actually had the balls to cut so much at once. i knew i wanted to get it cut, and since it was so long, i figured this was a great opportunity to go for it. besides, the way i see it, i can always grow it back. these kids don't have that luxury.
and as a bonus, i found this really funky little salon right by my house. its very cool. it doesn't feel stark and manufactured like most salons (you know, the ones that order all of their counters, floors, mirrors, wallpaper, etc right out of the create-a-salon catalogue). instead of counters or booths or whatever, they have these rad looking bakers racks. who knew you could store your hairdryer and curling irons in the built in wine rack? oh - and my haircut? 12 bucks. now you can't go wrong there. 2:07 PM //
