what's so amazing about really deep thoughts?

blah

i'm basically just writing to waste fill some time. it's our day off, and i'm waiting for adam to get out of the shower so we can head out to run some errands. generally, i'd just jump in with him to save some time (and see him naked, obviously), but he's a sickie today... and i'm a sickie today... and honestly, i'd rather have my warm, steamy shower all to myself.

so i'm trying to mentally plan out my day. at some point, we have to get to south portland to pick up and cash adam's check... and while we're there, pick up a shower gift for adam's cousin and birthday presents for tara. but i think before we do that, we're going to head out to my mom's so adam can install a new chandelier in her dining room. sounds ambitous, huh? i don't think we should have any issues, but don't worry, i'll let you in on all the goods should we have any humiliating confirmations of our total lack of wiring knowledge. we're pretty much taking advantage of everyone else's home improvement projects to gain experience before we have to do it to our own house. (we don't tell them this in exactly those words, lol). hopefully as soon as this summer we're planning on finishing our entire upstairs (three bedrooms and a full bath)... which for anyone would be a huge undertaking. however, for novices like us, it should be damn near overwhelming. but we can do it. at least that's what i keep telling myself. hey - we build ourselves a cd holder this weekend. doesn't sound too impressive, but its actually pretty huge (we had to build one because we couldn't find any to buy that were large enough to hold all our cds... sad, i know) and it was a lot more involved than we'd imagined. but after about 2 hours in home depot, a spat that nearly left me in frustrated tears, and another hour or two at home of meticulous measuring, graphing, and drilling, we were left with a success. slow and steady wins the race, right? heh. why do all motivational slogans just sound like consolations?

anyway, adam's done showering, so i'm gonna go try to steam my sickies out. wish me luck.
